Divya
Divya (she/her) has been a part of the Indian film industry since 2017, working as a makeup artist on over a dozen feature films. A trained dancer and performer since childhood, she has always been drawn to movement, performance, and the collaborative nature of storytelling. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a postgraduate qualification in design, bringing together an understanding of human behaviour with a strong visual sensibility.
Her years in the makeup department allowed her to work closely with performers, where she came to appreciate the importance of trust, empathy, and creating spaces in which artists feel comfortable enough to do their best work. Witnessing these dynamics firsthand sparked her interest in intimacy coordination.
While Divya entered the field hoping to become a dependable support system for performers and filmmakers, her training with Aastha revealed that intimacy coordination extends far beyond the choreography of intimate scenes. It is a practice rooted in communication, consent, collaboration, and care—creating an environment where boundaries are respected while enabling honest and nuanced storytelling.
As storytelling in the South Indian film industry continues to evolve and embrace greater emotional and physical intimacy, Divya hopes to grow alongside it. She is committed to establishing herself as a trusted and reliable intimacy coordinator, supporting productions in creating safe, respectful, and artistically fulfilling environments where performers can do their best work with confidence.
