Ilenia Cipollari

Ilenia (she/her) is an Italian-British intimacy coordinator, vocalist, performer, and practice-based researcher working across film, television, theatre, and live performance. Her approach to intimacy coordination is grounded in trauma-informed practice, consent-led choreography, and over a decade of professional experience as a performer in physically and vocally demanding ensemble contexts. She is a certified Intimacy Coordinator through the Intimacy Professionals Association, Class of 2025, with training supported by ScreenSkills and the BFI National Lottery.

Ilenia’s doctoral research at University of the Arts London explores care, embodied ethics, and relational intimacy in contemporary performance. Her background spans international touring theatre, experimental music, early music, film, and television, with performance credits including work with Song of the Goat Theatre, Musarc, Idrîsî Ensemble, BBC, Netflix, and Ridley Scott Productions. She has performed internationally at venues and festivals including Yale Repertory Theatre’s No Boundaries series, Tbilisi International Theatre Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, BRAVE Festival, and the International Festival of Chamber Music in São Paulo.

Alongside her screen and stage experience, Ilenia teaches and facilitates in higher education and actor-training contexts, including MA Devised Theatre at University of the Arts London. Her work is particularly attentive to power, culture, race, gender, sexuality, and the vulnerability of embodied storytelling. She brings calm communication, relational awareness, and a performer-centred approach to rehearsal rooms and sets. Ilenia works in English, Italian, and Spanish, and is available for intimacy coordination, consultancy, teaching, and facilitation across the UK and Europe.
