Paula Sánchez Arévalo
Prior to becoming an intimacy coordinator, Paula (she/her) had a long dance career with Nederlands Dans Theater and also as a freelance dancer in Europe. A performer herself, Paula understands the dynamics of power in the working environment and is dedicated to creating safety for the actors during intimate scenes. Moreover, Paula has years of experience supporting the director’s creative vision as a choreographer for film, TV and theater productions. She has taught dance repertoire at American Dance Festival, Bennington College, University of Philadelphia, University of South Florida, and Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Madrid.
In the last decades, Paula has been teaching movement, Gyrotonic, yoga, breathing and mindfulness techniques to help performers improve their skills and navigate the high emotional and physical exposure on set.
In addition, she is a children's literature author and has advocated for minors on TV and theater productions. Paula currently lives and works in Spain and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
